School Council Meeting Minutes
November 10, 2009
Present: Jennifer Roberts, John Skiba, Anneliese Bajema, Kim Field, Ellen Hull, Michelle Kempskie, Heidi Meikrantz
" Since last meeting, Ellen Hull compiled a list of survey questions we may use to question parents.
" Lisa Randall transferred the questions to Survey Monkey.
" At the beginning of the meeting, it was discussed that we may want to create similar surveys to address staff and students as well.
" Kim Field edited the on-line survey as the School Council discussed and modified the questions.
" There was some question about whether a survey addressing teachers and staff was necessary at this point. It was decided that since we are using the results to inform the School Improvement Plan for the 2010-11 school year, teacher input was necessary.
" We decided to open the parent survey link at Survey Monkey on Friday 13, 2009.
" Lisa Randall will post the Survey Monkey link to the EES home page.
" The computer lab or computer cart will be available during Specialist Open House for parents to respond.
" Connect Ed message will we sent on Friday 11/13/09 to inform parents that the survey will be online and how to access the questions.
" We decided to develop the teacher/staff and student survey before the December School Council Meeting, then discuss and finalize the questions in the meeting. We may divide into two groups to finalize the staff and student surveys.
